Course overview

AET is a widely used starting qualification for new trainers. It introduces the responsibilities of a teacher or trainer, inclusive learning, session planning, assessment and practical delivery. It can also form part of the wider pathway for people who want to deliver SIA licence-linked training.

Entry and preparation

Suitable written and spoken English for course work and teaching practice.
You should be able to participate in a practical teaching activity.
No previous teaching role is usually required, but course-specific awarding organisation requirements will be confirmed before enrolment.
